Description
A nine-day educational trip to Poland is planned for June 2026 with pupils aged 16-17 from WRG Salzburg Grammar School. The trip will first take them to Krakow and then to Gdansk. The aim of this project is to give the young people an understanding of the history, culture and society of a country that is probably rather unfamiliar to us: Poland. In addition, they will learn about the development and consequences of totalitarian systems and develop a self-reflective historical awareness. The programme includes a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and an examination of the victims, perpetrators and collaborators during the Nazi era, the history of the Second World War, and Austrian-Polish relations.

Im Juni 2026 ist eine neuntätige Bildungsreise nach Polen mit Schüler:innen (16–17 Jahre) des Gymnasiums WRG Salzburg geplant. Die Reise führt zunächst nach Krakau und anschließend nach Danzig. Ziel dieses Projekts ist es, den Jugendlichen ein Verständnis für die Geschichte, Kultur und Gesellschaft eines für uns wohl eher unbekannten Landes, Polen, zu vermitteln. Zudem sollen sie die Entwicklung und Folgen totalitärer Systeme kennen lernen und selbst-reflexives historisches Bewusstsein entwickeln. Geplant sind der Besuch der Gedenkstätte Auschwitz-Birkenau sowie die Auseinandersetzung mit den Opfern, Täter:innen, Mitläufer:innen während des Nationalsozialismus, mit der Geschichte des Zweiten Weltkriegs und den österreichisch-polnischen Beziehungen.
