Description
Since July 2006, the Centropa association has been organising a monthly gathering for Holocaust survivors – the “Café Centropa”. Of late, the descendants of Holocaust survivors, among others, have also started to attend these gatherings. Most of them were born shortly after the war and now act as discussion partners for schoolchildren. This is a great asset, as they can tell their parents’ stories and have experienced what it means to be a child of survivors. “Café Centropa” is an important fixture in the lives of its members.

Seit Juli 2006 veranstaltet der Verein Centropa einmal im Monat ein Treffen von Holocaust-Überlebenden - das „Café Centropa“. Unter anderem werden diese Treffen mittlerweile auch von den Nachkommen der Holocaust-Überlebenden besucht. Sie sind meist kurz nach Ende des Krieges geboren und Gesprächspartner:innen für Schüler:innen. Eine große Bereicherung, denn sie können die Geschichten ihrer Eltern erzählen, und sie haben erlebt, was es bedeutet, ein Kind von Überlebenden zu sein. Das „Café Centropa“ ist ein wichtiger Halt im Leben der Mitglieder.
