Further research is planned to identify the victims of “Operation T4” by name. The database on patients at the Niedernhart Sanatorium and Nursing Home in Linz is also to be expanded. As Hartheim’s “catchment area” also extended to the territories of Yugoslavia annexed in 1941, research in this respect will also commence in 2026. In the area of education, a new educational programme has been developed on the situation of people with disabilities. Further work packages are now to be drawn up. For the revision of the educational programme “Accompaniment”, biographies are being compiled and adapted for educational purposes. Another educational programme, aimed primarily at police cadets, is also to be revised. Further objectives include improving what’s on offer at the learning and remembrance site’s educational stations, with an in-depth module within the educational programme dedicated to archaeological finds. Readings and discussions are also planned. From February 2026, the travelling exhibition ‘Hitler’s Executive Branch’ will be on display in Hartheim. To mark this occasion, a research colloquium will be held on the role of the police in Nazi extermination policy, with a focus on Nazi euthanasia policy. In terms of publications, a fourth volume is to be published on the archaeological finds.

Im Bereich der namentlichen Erfassung der Opfer der „Aktion T4“ ist vorgesehen, weitere Recherchen durchzuführen. Auch die Datenbank zu den Patient:innen der Heil- und Pflegeanstalt Niedernhart in Linz soll ausgebaut werden. Da sich das „Einzugsgebiet“ von Hartheim auch auf die 1941 annektierten Gebiete Jugoslawiens erstreckte, wird 2026 auch mit diesbezüglichen Recherchen begonnen. Im Bereich der Vermittlung wurde ein neues Vermittlungsprogramm zur Situation von Menschen mit Behinderungen erarbeitet. Nun sollen weitere Arbeitsaufträge erstellt werden. Für die Überarbeitung des pädagogischen Programms „Begleitung“ werden Biografien erarbeitet und didaktisch aufbereitet. Ein weiteres pädagogisches Programm steht vor allem Polizeischüler:innen zur Verfügung und soll überarbeitet werden. Weitere Ziele sind die Verbesserung des Angebots der Lern- und Gedenkort Vermittlungsstationen, ein Vertiefungsmodul im pädagogischen Angebot widmet sich den archäologischen Fundgegenständen. Zudem sind Lesungen und Gespräche geplant. Ab Februar 2026 wird die Wanderausstellung „Hitlers Exekutive“ in Hartheim gezeigt werden. Aus diesem Anlass wird ein Forschungskolloquium zur Rolle der Polizei in der NS-Vernichtungspolitik mit Schwerpunkt auf die NS-Euthanasie durchgeführt. Im Bereich der Publikationstätigkeit soll ein vierter Band zu den archäologischen Fundgegenständen veröffentlicht werden.
