The aim of the project is to produce an informative brochure that deals objectively with the “Rechnitz case” and draws on reliable sources when examining the facts. Planned chapters are: The construction of the South-Eastern Wall and the deployment of Hungarian Jews, crimes committed in the final stages of war in the Hungary-Austria border region, the Rechnitz massacre, the records of the exhumation of mass graves by the Soviet Army and during the People’s Court trials, the so-called “Feme murders”, the Rechnitz I, II and III trials, repression and forgetting, commemoration and remembrance, as well as the search for graves, methods, challenges, results and findings.

Ziel des Projekts ist die Herstellung einer Informationsbroschüre, die sich mit dem „Fall Rechnitz“ objektiv beschäftigt und sich bei der Aufarbeitung der Fakten auf gesicherte Quellen stützt. Vorgesehene Kapitel: der Südostwallbau und der Einsatz ungarischer Jüd:innen, Endphaseverbrechen im Grenzraum Ungarn-Österreich, das Massaker in Rechnitz, die Protokolle zur Öffnung der Leichengruben durch die Sowjetarmee und im Zuge der Volksgerichtsprozesse, die sogenannten Fememorde, die Prozesse Rechnitz I, II, III, Verdrängen und Vergessen, Gedenken und Erinnern sowie die Grabsuche, Methoden, Problemlagen, Ergebnisse und Erkenntnisse.
