Description
The Nazi era is a key topic of the curriculum in Year 7 at the high school GRG 19. GRG 19 is therefore planning an educational trip to Kraków and Auschwitz with its pupils. The trip will include visits to the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz, the Auschwitz I concentration camp and the Auschwitz II extermination camp. In addition, the pupils will take part in two workshops in Auschwitz. The aim of the project is to raise pupils’ awareness of the atrocities of Nazism and the systematic extermination of millions of people, as well as to provide an in-depth understanding of the living conditions of the Jewish population in the ghettos and concentration camps. Another part of the programme involves an exchange with young Jewish people. GRG 19 is working with Morah to organise the trip.

Das Thema Nationalsozialismus bildet in der 7. Klasse des GRG 19 einen inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt. Daher plant das GRG 19 mit den Schüler eine Bildungsreise nach Krakau und Auschwitz. Im Rahmen dieser Reise sind Besuche des jüdischen Viertels Kazimierz, des Konzentrationslagers Auschwitz I sowie des Vernichtungslagers Auschwitz II vorgesehen. Darüber hinaus nehmen die Schüler an zwei Workshops in Auschwitz teil. Ziel des Projekts ist es, die Schüler für die Gräueltaten des Nationalsozialismus und die systematische Vernichtung von Millionen Menschen zu sensibilisieren sowie ein vertieftes Verständnis für die Lebensbedingungen der jüdischen Bevölkerung in den Ghettos und Konzentrationslagern zu vermitteln. Ein weiterer Programmpunkt ist der Austausch mit jungen jüdischen Menschen. Für die organisatorische Durchführung der Reise arbeitet das GRG 19 mit Morah zusammen.
