The series of events explores various aspects of remembrance, responsibility and its relevance to the present day. Drawing on the work of Martin Pollack, the series explores the traces of violence during the final months of Nazi rule. In conversation with Ms Nava Ebrahimi, the focus is on the question of what lessons can be learnt from history and what dangers arise from current trends towards trivialising populism, authoritarianism and the questioning of human rights. Another key focus is on remembrance in the digital age: how is history remembered in digital spaces today? What opportunities does artificial intelligence offer for teaching history, and what risks does it pose in terms of disinformation and historical falsification – particularly in the context of the Holocaust?

Inhaltlich widmet sich die Veranstaltungsreihe unterschiedlichen Aspekten von Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Gegenwartsbezug. Ausgehend von den Arbeiten Martin Pollacks wird den Spuren der Gewalt in den letzten Monaten der NS-Herrschaft nachgegangen. Im Gespräch mit Frau Nava Ebrahimi steht die Frage im Mittelpunkt, welche Lehren aus der Geschichte gezogen werden können und welche Gefahren sich aus aktuellen Tendenzen ergeben, Populismus, Autoritarismus und die Infragestellung von Menschenrechten zu verharmlosen. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt beschäftigt sich mit dem Erinnern im digitalen Zeitalter: Wie wird heute in digitalen Räumen erinnert? Welche Chancen bietet Künstliche Intelligenz für die Vermittlung von Geschichte, und welche Risiken birgt sie im Hinblick auf Desinformation und Geschichtsfälschung – insbesondere im Kontext des Holocaust?
