The story is based on the recollections of two Ukrainian women who, as young girls, had been torn from their families and homes and forced into slave labor in the German Reich during World War II. Almost 70 years later, Anisja Andrejawna Denisjaka, married Ogris, from Radsberg and Ljubka Janowa Cakowska, married Oratsch, from Schiefling, describe their fate and their suffering in their youth and later on. Their story alludes to the fate of millions who were deported from the East. With their slave labor, they had to replace men and boys who had been called to the front. Involuntarily, they contributed to the continued existence of the Nazi system until 1945.

Die Erzählung beruht auf den Erinnerungen zweier Ukrainerinnen, die während des Zweiten Weltkrieges als junge Mädchen ihren Familien und dem heimatlichen Umfeld entrissen und zur Zwangsarbeit im damaligen Deutschen Reich gezwungen worden waren. Anisja Andrejewna Denisjaka, verh. Ogris, vom Radsberg und Ljubka Janowa Cakowska, verh. Oratsch, aus Schiefling erzählen nach nahezu siebzig Jahren darüber, was sie in ihrer Jugend und später erlebt und erlitten haben. Ihre Erzählung ist ein Hinweis auf das Schicksal von Millionen Verschleppter aus dem Osten. Mit ihrer Sklavenarbeit mussten sie Männer und Burschen ersetzen, die zum Frontdienst eingezogen worden waren. Ungewollt leisteten sie einen Beitrag dazu, dass sich das nationalsozialistische System bis zum Jahre 1945 halten konnte.
