His recollections are not characterized by resentment but rather dedication and new beginnings, for both himself and the Jewish Community in Linz. The biography spans an arc across all stages of his life, from his childhood to the present, and documents a process of remembrance and a search for traces, which is not only a life story but a vivid piece of Austrian history.

Dipl. Ing. Georg Wozasek, der 87-jährige Präsident der IKG Linz, blickt in seiner Biographie auf ein bewegtes Leben zurück. Georg Wozasek ist 1925 in Amstetten, NÖ geboren und aufgewachsen. Er wurde samt seiner Familie nach der Pogromnacht aus seiner Heimatstadt ausgewiesen und war schließlich gezwungen Österreich zu verlassen. Als 13-jähriger musste er nach Paris gehen und konnte später in einem Kindertransport in die USA, New York einreisen. 1951 kehrte er nach Österreich zurück und übernahm 1980 das Amt des IKG Präsidenten in Linz. Die vorliegenden Erinnerungen sind nicht von Ressentiments geprägt, vielmehr vom Engagement um einen Neubeginn, sowohl für das persönliche Leben, als auch für die jüdische Gemeinde in Linz. Die Biographie spannt einen Bogen über alle Abschnitte seines Lebens, von der Kindheit bis zu Gegenwart und dokumentiert den Prozess des Erinnerns und eine Spurensuche, die nicht nur eine Lebensgeschichte ist, sondern ein Stück österreichische Zeitgeschichte anschaulich macht.
