In memoriam Norbert Lopper (1919–2015)

07 Oct 2015

Norbert Lopper was the honorary chairperson of the Societal Advisory Board for the redesign of the Austrian national exhibition at Auschwitz. From Vienna, he shaped Austrian football history during his several decades as Secretary General of the Wiener Austria football club. A survivor of Auschwitz, he described his time as an inmate at the camp during an interview for the book documenting the former Austrian exhibition at Auschwitz.

Sadly, he didn’t live to see the publication of the book. Norbert Lopper died on 2 June 2015 in Vienna.

During the book’s presentation at the Vienna Museum on 2 June 2015 in the presence of Norbert Lopper’s widow Ida and his son Pierre, Hannah Lessing, Secretary General of the National Fund, recalled his work and his contribution towards keeping memory alive.
